Paul Heaton live in Birmingham – on his own at this one
This handily timed, well-priced gig gave me a chance to take the natural next step to seeing The Housemartins and The Beautiful South. No Jackie Abbott tonight due to illness but Heaton carried on regardless.
Glastonbury Festival 2022 – my wander through it
So who writes up a Glastonbury Festival experience six months afterwards? Well it was just too much of a beast to digest… but eventually I sorted out my four day wander.
The Sea Girls – live in Southampton
One of the bands I caught at Glastonbury this Summer was The Sea Girls – good enough to lead a grey-haired gig goer to some newer stuff and a ticket to see them in Southampton at the end of November.
Bob Dylan – live in Bournemouth, England
At fairly short notice I was amazed to see that Bob Dylan was coming to Bournemouth – I had to buy a ticket – sat in the BIC with Bob onstage and it’s still hard to believe he’s here.
The Hunna – live in Southampton
Rock-tober is over and it’s gig 83 of the year for this grey-haired gig goer: a mid-week trip to The Engine Rooms to see The Hunna.
Inhaler – live in Southampton
A packed venue. A room full of exuberant youth – there was even a collective scream when the band took to the stage. Inhaler are on their way and the grey-haired gig goer is there to see them off.
Slow Readers Club live in Oxford
A sixth Slow Readers Club gig for the grey-haired gig goer so they must be doing something right. This time to Oxford – another novelty.
Victorious Festival: Sunday
The third and final day of 2022 Victorious Festival on Southsea Common – Suede win it for me.
Duran Duran live in Hyde Park
Duran Duran bring the British Summertime Hyde Park concerts to an end for another Summer. I find myself watching the Brum boy popsters some 42 years since I first bumped into them. Wow, how times have changed.
